Day 1

Scripture to Read: 1 Corinthians 15:35–38

In 1 Corinthians 15, God had Paul answer questions the believers in Corinth had about the glorified bodily resurrection that will happen to everyone who surrenders to Christ as Lord. God wanted all the saints to have a good picture of what’s to come. We read in 1 Corinthians 15:35–38, “But someone will say, “How are the dead raised? And with what kind of body do they come?” 36 You fool! That which you sow does not come to life unless it dies; 37 and that which you sow, you do not sow the body which is to be, but a bare grain, perhaps of wheat or of something else. 38 But God gives it a body just as He wished, and to each of the seeds a body of its own.” God had Paul answer the questions that people were asking in Corinth about the glorified bodily resurrection: “How are the dead raised? And with what kind of body do they come?” God, in His answer through Paul, lovingly rebuked those who could even ask such questions. God had Paul use a great illustration with the planting of seeds. When seeds are planted, they simply look like seeds and look nothing like what the seed will become. The seed has to die for life to come forth from it. After the seed is planted, God takes over, for He is the Creator of the seed and knows what He designed that seed to be. God gives the seed the new body He designed it to have. The same is true for our new glorified body.

Day 2

God continued to have Paul point out that not all bodies are the same. We read in 1 Corinthians 15:39–41, “All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one flesh of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fish. 40 There are also heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is one, and...

Day 3

We know that our earthly bodies inherited the consequence of sin, which is death. We also know that sin always results in death (Romans 1:32, Romans 5:12, Romans 6:16, Romans 6:21, Romans 6:23, Romans 8:6, Galatians 6:8). But the Good News through Christ is that we can have abundant and eternal life. God had Paul write this in 1 Corinthians 1...

Day 4

We read in 1 Corinthians 15:45–49, “So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 46 However, the spiritua...

Day 5

The whole mystery of the resurrection boils down to what God had Paul write in 1 Corinthians 15:50, “Now I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.” God reminds the believers in Corinth that there is a difference between the perishable and the imperishable. J...

Day 6

God had Paul give a little insight into the moment when Christ will resurrect His children. We read in 1 Corinthians 15:51–53, “Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, ...

Day 7

God wanted to ensure that every believer understands that a day is coming when death will be no more. God had Paul write in 1 Corinthians 15:54–58, “But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, ‘Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O ...
