Day 3

Scripture to Read: Daniel 12:7–8

God will use the tribulation period to convert the nation of Israel to Christ. In Daniel 12:7, it says, “as soon as they finish shattering the power of the holy people.” Note that God is “shattering the power of the holy people.” Only for the nation of Israel does God promise a national revival. In Romans 11:26, God’s Word says, “and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written, “The Deliverer will come from Zion, He will remove ungodliness from Jacob.” The history of the nation of Israel is recorded in Romans 9, 10, and 11. Romans 9 is about God choosing Israel as His chosen nation. Romans 10 is about Israel being rejected due to their unbelief. Romans 11 is about Israel in the future being accepted. When the nation of Israel rejected Christ at His first coming, God gave them over to a spiritual blindness. That’s why the salvation of a Jewish person today is such a miracle. God’s Word shows us this in Matthew 13:14–15, Acts 28:25–28, and 2 Corinthians 3:14–16. We read in these passages how the nation of Israel is spiritually deaf and blind, their minds are hardened, and a veil remains over their spiritual eyes. God shows us in Romans 11:7–10 that actions have consequences. Jewish people did get saved, for Paul and the original apostles were Jews. But in Acts 13, after Paul got kicked out of a synagogue, he went to the Gentiles, and Gentiles have been surrendering to Christ as Lord ever since. However, God’s time for Israel is coming.

Challenge & Application

Why do so many Jews still refuse Christ as their Messiah today? How will God humble the nation of Israel so that they fully realize Jesus is the One True Messiah?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

Day 1

In 1 Peter 5:5, we know “God humbles the proud and gives grace to the humble.” God does this in Daniel 12:5–7 as He reveals His future plans for the nation of Israel. We read in Daniel 12:5 how two others were standing on the two banks of the river. The river Daniel referenced was the Tigris, revealed in Daniel 10:4. In Daniel 12:7, a third i...

Day 2

In Revelation 12:6–17, God had John record what happens in the spiritual world in the second half of the tribulation. Satan will lose his access to Heaven. Currently, Satan enters heaven to accuse the brethren, as recorded in the Book of Job and in Revelation 12:10. Even Jesus referenced this in Luke 22:31, “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has de...

Day 4

God designed prophecy to become more understandable the closer we get to when the things predicted in the Book of Daniel will happen. In Daniel 12:9, God had the angel tell Daniel that he should seal the vision. God the Father left it to the work of the Holy Spirit in a distant generation to reveal the things that had been shown to Daniel. In...

Day 5

In Daniel 12:10, God gave an answer to the contrast between the righteous and the wicked, as it says, “Many will be purged, purified and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand.” The “many” is often used as a reference to the nation of Israel. We see this i...

Day 6

Many, through the tribulation, will become hardened toward God. Daniel 12:10 says, “the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand.” God also reveals this in Revelation 9:20–21, “The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, so as not to worship demons, and the ido...

Day 7

We read in Daniel 12:13, “But as for you, go your way to the end; then you will enter into rest and rise again for your allotted portion at the end of the age.” This is Daniel’s future inheritance, how he will enter his rest and rise to enter into his portion in the millennial kingdom. Those words are so encouraging. We must make sure we are ...
